Detailed Product Description

The Dynamic Revit Family 2D – Square/Rectangular Column (Detail Item) is a fully parametric and highly flexible detail item designed specifically for structural engineers who require fast and accurate column detailing.

Developed in Revit 2024, this family utilizes parametric controls that automatically adjust the displayed column section and reinforcement based on the user’s input values.

1. Automatic Section Adjustment

• The geometry of the column adapts dynamically according to the input dimensions (width – length).
• The spacing and positioning of the longitudinal rebars update automatically based on the dimensions and reinforcement layout.

2. Integrated Cover & Longitudinal Bar Diameter

• Both the concrete cover and the longitudinal bar diameter adjust automatically when modified.
• For consistency and correct representation, it is recommended to keep the default values.

3. Automatic Longitudinal Reinforcement Text

• The reinforcement text for the peripheral longitudinal rebars is generated automatically.
• If additional internal reinforcement is enabled (e.g., 2nd or 3rd series of longitudinal rebars), the text must be adjusted manually, as these rebars are not included in the automatic calculation.
• A visual check is recommended to ensure correct representation, with the option to edit the text manually if required.

4. Stirrups

• Supports up to six dynamic stirrups per direction, all fully parametric.
• Each stirrup can be activated independently depending on the required reinforcement layout.
• All active stirrups automatically adjust to the correct dimensions based on the section and the number of longitudinal rebars.
• Includes a diagonal stirrup, designed to remain perfectly centered along the column’s sides, ensuring a symmetrical and clean representation.
• The output remains stable and clear even with multiple stirrups enabled across both directions.

5. Fully Dynamic Behavior

• All active elements (rebars, stirrups, annotations, distances) update automatically based on the selected configuration.
• The output is clean, stable, and ideal for detailed reinforcement drawings.

• This family has been tested and optimized for use at scales 1:20 and 1:25, ensuring clear and accurate reinforcement detailing at these drawing scales.
• This family was created in Revit 2024 and is not compatible with older versions.
• It can be opened and upgraded in newer versions (e.g., Revit 2025).
