Detailed Product Description

The Dynamic Revit Family 2D – T-Shape Column (Detail Item) is a fully parametric and highly flexible detail item designed specifically for structural engineers who require fast and accurate column detailing.

Developed in Revit 2024, this family utilizes parametric controls that automatically adjust the displayed column section and reinforcement based on the user’s input values.

1. Automatic Section Adjustment

• The geometry of the T-shape column adapts dynamically according to the user-defined dimensions (H, H1, B1, B2, B3), ensuring accurate representation of any T-shaped configuration.
• The spacing and positioning of all longitudinal rebars update automatically based on the section dimensions and reinforcement layout. Both vertical and horizontal bar groups adjust parametrically to maintain proper placement on all sides of the section.

2. Integrated Concrete Cover & Longitudinal Bar Diameter

• The concrete cover and longitudinal bar diameter adjust automatically when modified, instantly updating the geometry and rebar locations.
• For consistency and to avoid potential issues, it is recommended to keep the default values.

3. Automatic Longitudinal Reinforcement Text

• The longitudinal reinforcement text is generated automatically based on the active rebar layout.
• When internal rebars are hidden or deactivated, the automatic text may not fully update; therefore, manual review is recommended.
• If needed, the text can be edited manually using the dedicated parameter for full control over the annotation.

4. Stirrups

• In the horizontal direction, two stirrup configurations are available:
 – Independent stirrups placed separately on the left and right flanges, with support for up to five stirrups per side.
 – Common stirrups, which enclose both flanges simultaneously.
 Both configurations are fully parametric, and in certain cases a combination of the two may be used depending on the section geometry.

• In the vertical direction, up to six fully parametric stirrups are supported, all automatically adjustable based on the selected configuration and reinforcement layout.

• The primary stirrups (No.B_STR1 and No.H_STR1) are always active.
• Additional stirrups can be activated independently depending on reinforcement requirements.
• All active stirrups adjust automatically to match the correct dimensions based on the section geometry and the number of longitudinal rebars.
• The presence of a second stirrup along each side adjusts automatically depending on the number of rebars in series No.B2, No.B3, No.H, and No.Corner. For example, with six longitudinal rebars, the second stirrup is placed around the two inner corner bars. If not required, it can simply be deactivated.
• Single Stirrups options are also included, ideal for simplified detailing when only one stirrup per direction is needed. These stirrups always remain perfectly centered on each side.

5. Fully Dynamic Behavior

• All active elements (rebars, stirrups, annotations, distances) update automatically according to the selected configuration.
• The output is clean, stable, and ideal for detailed reinforcement drawings.

• This family has been tested and optimized for use at scales 1:20 and 1:25, ensuring clear and accurate reinforcement detailing at these drawing scales.
• This family was created in Revit 2024 and is not compatible with older versions.
• It can be opened and upgraded in newer versions (e.g., Revit 2025).
